What is West African dance?

 

CYDT teaches West African dance based on the cultures and tradition of the Susu people of Guinea, Conakry.

 

West African classes are accompanied by live drumming which forms the musical basis for this dance genre, richly steeped in black culture and heritage.

 

 

 

What does CYDT West African dance cover?

 

All classes cover warm up combinations, foundational principles and choreography.

 

Solo components enable students to explore their self-expression, build and demonstrate confidence.
