What is Ballet?
CYDT teaches the RAD Syllabus which is based on the The Royal Academy of Dance's internationally recognised portfolio of exams and assessments that are designed to encourage, motivate and reward students of all ages and abilities, outlining a progressive structure for learning and achievement in dance.
Ballet truly is an art form, the universial principles for which are balance and mobility. It is upon these principles that all ballet technique is taught.
More than a simple dance form, ballet teaches etiquette, poise, form and so much more.
What does CYDT Ballet class cover?
Foundational principles of ballet are introduced including ballet alignment, basic positions, carriage of the arms the articulation of feet and ankles. Dancers also learn choreography and how to improvise within ballet technique.
Ballet ettiquette is also taught as part of the CYDT syllabus.
Ballet II & III
These advanced level classes focus on further development of proper alignment, strength, endurance and increasing flexibility and extension. Students learn adagio exercises and complex choreography.
Ballet class ettiquette is reinforced.
